Established on January 1, 2015, the Rural Municipality of Minto-Odanah was created when the former R.M. of Minto (est 1903) amalgamated with the R.M. of Odanah (est 1883).

The R.M. of Minto-Odanah is found in the southwestern region of the Province of Manitoba, situated between the City of Brandon and Riding Mountain National Park.  The municipality surrounds the Town of Minnedosa.

The R.M. consists of approximately 1189 residents.  The area is primarily gently rolling hills, picturesque farmlands and pockets of wetlands, which are home to some of the richest duck breeding grounds in the world.  Minto-Odanah is appealing to those who have a passion for wide open spaces, farmland and nature.
